In Patna, two headmasters and an intermediary were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the recruitment of fake teachers in Samastipur. The arrests were made after a four-member committee, established by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh, conducted an investigation. The individuals arrested are headmasters Dilip Ram from Purushottampur Primary School and Avinash Kumar Tandon from Navtolia Primary School, as well as intermediary Parvez Alam. They were apprehended in the Town police station area. A significant fraud took place at Navtolia Primary School, according to a police source. Following the revelation of the fake recruitment, several teachers are being scrutinized, and 12 are said to be on the run. The police revealed that the fake teachers were appointed in place of candidates selected through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) by manipulating the counseling process. The DM stated, "Complaints were received regarding fraudulent appointments in the BPSC TRE-2.0. After confirming the list of successful candidates in the BPSC exam and verifying their documents, their biometric thumbprints were taken. However, certain individuals within the education department deceitfully appointed fake teachers using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of the selected BPSC teacher candidates who didn't take up the positions." The DM further explained that a four-member committee was established on September 7 to investigate the matter, and based on their findings, the headmasters and intermediary were arrested. "A person named Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School has been identified as a fake teacher. Furthermore, the appointments of teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari at the same school are currently being looked into. The fraudulent appointments were initially uncovered at this school," stated an official from the Town police station.
